Background

In India, massage is believed to be the most powerful way to relax and rejuvenate the body and has been in practice for over 1000 years. Indian Head Massage, known in India as 'champissage', was originally developed by women using different oils according to the season (coconut, sesame, almond, olive, mustard, buttermilk, herbal oil and henna), to condition their hair making it strong and beautiful.

Ailia's techniques were founded by Narendra Mehta. Narendra developed his own methods after extensive research in India. As a blind man, he used his heightened sensitivity to experience, study and expand on the traditions of Indian Head Massage.
